TrakBit — Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information TrakBit ("App", "we", "us", "our") collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using TrakBit you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Overview
TrakBit is a habit-tracking application designed with a privacy-first approach. Your personal data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your habits, progress, or personal information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you set up TrakBit during the onboarding process, you may provide:

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your email address, phone number, or physical address.
- We do not collect your location data.
- We do not use device advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID).
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use cookies.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. How Your Data Is Stored
3.1 Local Storage
All your habit data, profile information, and preferences are stored exclusively on your device using a secure local database (MMKV). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up (see Section 3.2).
3.2 Cloud Backup (Optional)
TrakBit offers an optional cloud backup feature that uses:
- iCloud on iOS devices
- Google Drive on Android devices
When you initiate a backup, your data is saved to your personal cloud storage account. We do not have access to your cloud storage and cannot read, modify, or delete your backups. The backup files are stored in your own iCloud or Google Drive account and are subject to Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies.
3.3 No Server-Side Storage
TrakBit does not operate its own servers for storing user data. We do not maintain a database of user accounts, habits, or personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
TrakBit integrates with the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
4.1 RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and verify purchase status.
- Data shared: An anonymous user identifier and subscription transaction data.
- Purpose: To verify your TrakBit Pro subscription status across sessions and devices.

4.2 Apple App Store / Google Play Store
Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.).

4.3 Notifications
TrakBit uses local notifications (via Notifee) to send habit reminders. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. We do not use remote push notification servers and do not have the ability to send you notifications from our side.
4.4 iCloud / Google Drive
Used only when you explicitly initiate a cloud backup or restore. See Section 3.2.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above solely for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service: Display your habits, track your progress, calculate streaks and statistics.
- Personalize your experience: Show your name, apply your chosen theme and language.
- Send reminders: Schedule local notifications at the times you configure.
- Manage subscriptions: Verify your TrakBit Pro entitlement via RevenueCat.
- Improve the App: We may use anonymized, aggregated usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most) to improve TrakBit. This data cannot be used to identify you.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data.
We only share data with third parties in the following limited circumstances:

7. Data Retention
- Local data is retained on your device for as long as you use the App. Uninstalling the App or deleting your account will permanently erase all local data.
- RevenueCat retains subscription-related data according to its own retention policy.
- Cloud backups remain in your iCloud or Google Drive account until you delete them manually.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Access and Control Your Data
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times.
8.2 Delete Your Data
You can delete all your data at any time from within the App:
Profile → Account Settings → Delete account and data
This will permanently erase all locally stored data (habits, profile, preferences) and reset the App. This action is irreversible.
8.3 Manage Notifications
You can enable or disable notifications at any time:
- Within TrakBit: Profile → Account Settings → Toggle notifications.
- Device settings: Revoke notification permissions for TrakBit in your device's system settings.
8.4 Manage Subscriptions
You can view, modify, or cancel your TrakBit Pro subscription through your device's subscription settings:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions.
8.5 Data Portability
TrakBit offers a cloud backup feature that allows you to export your data to iCloud or Google Drive in a portable JSON format.
9. Children's Privacy
TrakBit is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
10. International Users
TrakBit is available worldwide. By using the App, you understand that your data is processed locally on your device. For subscription management, RevenueCat may process anonymous data in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
10.1 European Economic Area (EEA) Users
If you are in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access: You can view all your data within the App at any time.
- Right to rectification: You can edit your profile information within the App.
- Right to erasure: You can delete all your data via Account Settings.
- Right to data portability: You can export your data using the cloud backup feature.
- Legal basis: We process your data based on your consent (provided when you use the App) and for the performance of the service you requested.
10.2 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect (described in Section 2).
- Request deletion of your personal information (available in-app, see Section 8.2).
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- All data is stored locally on your device, protected by your device's security mechanisms (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
- Cloud backups use the encryption provided by iCloud and Google Drive.
- Communication with RevenueCat uses industry-standard TLS encryption.
However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
